| The word "salas" is not of European origin - it is, in all probability, Turkish. The term is used to denote a farm or an individual hamlet engaged in agriculture or farming. They are built on large expanses of land frequently enclosed by a rough, spiked wooden fence or a wire fence, and include an "avlija" (yard). |
| The salasi of Vojvodina, scattered over the vast planes like "solitary bushes" remind travelers of small desert oases, and provide an ideal spot for rest and refreshment. In the past, these Panonian haciendas belonging to rich farmers represented the cornerstones of private agricultural enterprise. A decree issued by the communist regime after the Second World War practically wiped out the salasi overnight, proclaiming their owners to be public enemies. |
The Flower Salas is located on the old extension of the international highway E-75, approximately 900 m from the center of Palic and about 300 m from the exit for Palic from the new Belgrade-Budapest highway, on a junction connecting West, East, and North Europe with the Mediterranean basin and the Near East.
The Flower Salas offers 10 rooms (****), a dining room, TV lounge, sauna, gym, conference room, beauty salon. All rooms are with bathroom. The rooms bear the names of flowers: iris, calla, daisy, rose, orchid. |
Horseback riding on the horse-farm (The Maestoso Horse Farm on the Flower Salas has been breeding horses for the past ten years).
Horseback riding is free of charge. Guests can take riding lessons (extra charge) or ride in a carriage around Palic. In wintertime, a horse-drawn sleigh is available.

| "Majkin salas" is a restaurant catering traditional Vojvodina specialties. It is located in Palic, in the immediate vicinity of the Flower Salas, on our estate covering 20 hectares (see map). In keeping with the modern trends of eco-tourism, which encourage the traveler to turn to nature, savor traditional cuisine, and acquaint himself with the cultural heritage and the customs of the region he is visiting, the Maestoso Company has decided to place this beautiful house at their guests' disposal. The various inner rooms of "Majkin salas" reflect this arrangement, as do the outhouses. The old Vojvodina salas has once again become the center of social life, gathering people around a glass of excellent homemade rakija, folk music, and traditional cuisine. |
